Alex Brizzi, the man accused of threatening to “blow up” the FOX45 building after setting a car on fire in the parking lot, was not in court Friday for an arraignment.

He and his attorney have already entered a plea of not criminally responsible for the act. Brizzi faces charges of second-degree arson, first-degree malicious burning and threat of arson, as well as four counts of reckless endangerment and one count of possessing a phony destructive device.

A judge previously determined he was competent to stand trial. A hearing on June 22 will hear arguments on whether he was of sound mind at the time of the April 28 incident.

The 25-year-old Howard County man was shot by police in front of the station after refusing to comply with demands.

He was wearing what appeared to be an explosive device under what witnesses described as a “hedgehog onesie.”
